Stewardship is one of our four core cultural values. We take this to heart, vesting our hands and donations in the communities where we live and work, making a difference for future generations. 

Every year, each office location takes part in Baker Tilly’s Stewardship Day. It’s a powerful day of service where team members come together across our firm to serve our communities. In 2020, we had to rethink our approach to Stewardship Day due to COVID-19. Over the course of the year, we’ve created our Acts of Stewardship program. Offices highlighted community volunteering and outreach opportunities done locally in virtual groups with other Baker Tilly employees or friends and family.  

• Allied Services Ryan’s Run: Baker Tilly is proud to be a long-time supporter of Allied Services and WNEP’s Ryan’s Run. The funds raised through their campaign have supported the purchase of devices that benefit patients of all ages with a wide range of challenges.
• American Heart Association: Our Philadelphia office participates in the Philadelphia Heart Walk each year, and although it looked different in 2020, our employees were encouraged to “walk where they are” and tune in to their annual digital educational program.
• Camp Guyasuta: Our Pittsburgh office participates in a cleanup event where we help to beautify the camp to help the Boy Scouts prepare for their upcoming summer season. The camp is owned and operated by the Laurel Highlights Council – Boy Scouts of America and is used annually by 30,000 scouts, school groups and not-for-profit organizations.
• Central Pennsylvania Food Bank: Our Williamsport office helped strengthen their community by fighting hunger. They volunteer at the food bank and conduct a food drive to improve the lives of their neighbors.
• Everybody Eats Philly: a group of Black Philadelphia chefs and activists responded to the dire need of food and supplies in Philadelphia community after the protests and marches for racial equity began. The Philadelphia team raised money for the cause to provide a week’s worth of essentials to more than 100 families. Additionally, team members masked up and took part in the socially distanced volunteer day, held on the historic day, Juneteenth, to help to distribute food and supplies. As this new Philadelphia initiative continues to advance and evolve, our team continues to work with Everybody Eats Philly to learn how we can support them to sustain and scale their efforts.
• Goodies for our Troops: During a recent Stewardship Day, the Wellsboro office supported our troops by sending care packages to soldiers all around the world.
• Holiday Stars program: Every year around the holidays, our Pittsburgh office supports various not-for-profit organizations to provide families in need with presents.
• Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: Each year, a Baker Tilly Philadelphia employee leads the charge to raise money for a cause that is near and dear to his heart – the LLS’s Light the Night Walk, which raises money to find better treatments and cures for blood cancers so patients can live better, longer lives. The Pennsylvania team donates to his cause and participates in the annual Light the Night Walk.
• Operation Gratitude: Our Pennsylvania business unit offices helped Operation Gratitude fulfill their goal of sending at least 20,000 care packages for the holiday season by handwriting letters to our troops.
• Ronald McDonald House: Our Philadelphia team partners with the Ronald McDonald house to help in their mission to support families of seriously ill children, through meeting the immediate needs of the local organization through volunteer work.
• Ryan’s Case for Smiles: They started with a simple goal of sewing whimsical pillowcases that give young patients an emotional boost, which has now turned into programs that include the children’s entire families, so they can better navigate and cope with their experiences. Our Philadelphia team hopped onto their sewing machines and spent a full day sewing whimsical pillowcases for Ryan’s Case for Smiles.
