The business challenge

This client had numerous Structured Query Language (SQL) server applications and wanted to implement best practices in their new virtualized environment but didn’t know how to set up their new servers in the most efficient way. Additionally, the client wanted to prioritize solutions to be available to clients during disaster recovery periods.

[Baker Tilly Digital] was willing to take the time to learn about us as an IT team and as a company. They tailored their approach to our technology needs and in-house skill sets. The result was a SQL upgrade project that was on time, on budget, and completely painless.

Strategy and solution

Baker Tilly Digital walked through all databases to determine which ones were mission critical to disaster recovery, creating a scheme to divide the database servers between the two new virtual hosts. We then supervised migrating the database and reports to the new system and educated the team on various maintenance setup and migration scenarios.

Baker Tilly Digital led the company through a structured process to set up its new servers in a way that prioritized applications according to best practices for disaster recovery. The client gained a long-term solution that met its current needs along with the education to become more self-sufficient regarding its database infrastructure.
