A midwest-based global cookware distribution and consumer finance company with distributors throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The business challenge

The client worked with Baker Tilly Digital to develop a customized analytics road map. To continue growth, the client required a trusted advisor to execute the goals defined in the road map. Baker Tilly Digital established a dedicated data analytics team to leverage new technologies and set up repeatable processes to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Strategy and solution

Baker Tilly Digital consultants collaborated to establish a data analytics team and build a modern analytics platform from the ground-up, leveraging industry best practices and techniques, including:

  • Establishing an analytics environment consisting of a cloud data warehouse with a dimensional data model to support analysis of key organizational performance metrics in the areas of sales, distributor growth, customer retention and lending
  • Facilitating the development, testing and production environments to allow for rapid and secure design, build-out and promotion of core data elements to business users
  • Managing discussions with the organization’s leaders on how to better understand and improve existing data and business processes by leveraging modern technologies and techniques
  • Recommending a new team structure, assisting in recruitment efforts to fill roles and train team members on business and data-related tools
  • Transitioning the data platform from Baker Tilly Digital to the newly established data analytics team

The analytics platform and established data analytics team vastly improved the process by which senior leadership can gain access to reliable metrics to inform key business decisions.
