Diversity, equity and inclusion

Better, together

At Baker Tilly, we create an environment where every team member feels seen, heard, valued and connected. When we can bring our authentic selves to work each day, our contributions reflect our individual best, and our community is strong.

We take DEI a step further, embedding into all aspects of our business. We do this to create a sense of community for our team members, foster learning and conversation, and effect change both inside and outside our organization.

Our approach encompasses diversity, inclusion, belonging and societal impact (DIBS). That last one, societal impact, is a recent addition to our DEI strategy. It’s an innate tie to environmental, social and governance (ESG) and our acknowledgement that the impact of the world on us does not stop when the workday begins.

Having completed my first full year at Baker Tilly as head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, I am even more optimistic now than when I arrived about how our firm is making a difference. This difference comes to life in our people’s day-to-day experiences, in the communities where we live and work, in the larger conversation about equity and inclusion, and in our profession. A profession where these issues historically took a backseat to productivity and churn.

We’re changing that at Baker Tilly.

Belonging is one of our core values. We are committed to making our firm a place where we can bring our full selves to work. A place where we can feel safe sharing our perspectives and ideas. A place where we know there are equal opportunities to advance our professional journeys.

The “S” in ESG

Our “social” in environmental, social and governance (ESG) is strong, particularly from years of focus on diversity, inclusion and belonging inside our organization. We also have a history of doing this work for our clients. Now we’re taking it to the next level with, for example, not-for-profit, multifamily housing and low-income tax credits.
