GASB 87 countdown: Are you ready for lease accounting changes?

This webinar and presentation slides, originally presented in March 2019, state an outdated effective date. In May 2020, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) postponed the effective date. GASB 87 is now effective for fiscal years beginning after June 15, 2021.

The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) issued guidance on leases for state and local governmental entities in 2017 through Statement No. 87. GASB 87 alters the accounting rules and financial reporting requirements for leases — and it’s effective for fiscal years beginning after June 15, 2021.

The countdown is on! Is your public sector organization prepared to implement GASB 87?

Baker Tilly’s on-demand webinar walks through an overview of GASB 87, what the lease accounting changes mean for governmental entities and what preparations to take now to be ready for implementation.

Key learning objectives
