Client background 

Armstrong Comfort Solutions is a Home Services company in western Pennsylvania that provides a full line of heating, cooling, plumbing, and drain repair services. They are part of the Armstrong Group, a diverse group of companies across multiple industries. Armstrong Comfort Solutions strives to provide the best customer service and ensures their employees have the latest tools and training to help them meet that standard.  

The business challenge 

Previously, Armstrong Comfort Solutions used software focused on truck dispatch that had very basic back-end accounting functionality. There was no reporting feature, which led to them exporting data into Excel and using VLOOKUPs to create reports. The process was time-consuming, error-prone, and required hours of troubleshooting and extra work.

Solution and results 

Armstrong Comfort Solutions began looking for an accounting application that could integrate with ServiceTitan, their home and commercial services operational platform and found Sage Intacct. After the integration was set up, Baker Tilly Digital's professional services team helped Armstrong generate the reports they needed to effectively run their business. Now, after closing the books each month, they can quickly run the reports, and have confidence the reports are accurate without hours of extra work.  

With help from Baker Tilly Digital, they also built a job report that follows GAAP accounting and has the exact information they need. Running that report weekly allows their department heads to see the profitability of their jobs. They can also discover trends, such as which project consultants are selling which products, and analyze team performance overall. 

Armstrong Comfort Solutions has significantly improved its efficiency, which is now saving them several days of time each month. Instead of spending all those extra hours creating reports, they can delve into their data and make well-informed business decisions. The time they’re saving is reinvested in the company, helping it to continue growing. Sage Intacct has enabled them to free up valuable time, while Baker Tilly Digital provides them with reliable support.
