Mon Du is a tax director in Baker Tilly’s financial services practice.
Mon has more than 20 years of experience providing tax compliance and tax consulting services, including in the areas of ASC 740, SSAP 101 and FIN 48. He provides tax provision services on both a GAAP and statutory basis. In addition, he has assisted clients with proper disclosure of tax footnotes in financial statements, including interim and annual disclosure requirements. Mon joined Baker Tilly in 2021.
- Provides tax saving compliance processes, policies and strategies
- Administers federal, state and local income and premium tax compliance, including audit management
- Calculates quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and SSAP 101, including respective tax footnotes for GAAP financial statements and statutory annual statements
- Performs tax due diligence on potential acquisitions
- Determines optimal legal organizational structure to minimize federal and state income tax
- Assists with tax consulting services, including research, preparation of memoranda and tax planning
- Represents and assists insurance companies under IRS and state examination
