Martin Nikolov is a managing director in our New York office and advises business, owners and investors on merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. He has nearly 15 years of experience advising private equity firms, private equity backed portfolio companies and corporate clients on transactions including leveraged buyouts, public-to-private, roll-ups, carve-outs and divestitures for transaction of sizes typically ranging between $20 million and $3 billion. Martin has M&A experience in a variety of industries including business and professional services, software and technology, retail, manufacturing and distribution, and infrastructure.

Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Martin provided financial due diligence and transaction related advisory services as part of a Big Four firm and a middle market focused audit, tax and consulting firm.

  • His areas of expertise include valuation and transaction issues including quality and sustainability of earnings, debt and debt-like items, working capital, deal advisory and purchase agreements, post-closing purchase price mechanisms, carve-out transactions, synergy and cost savings, and divestiture exit readiness
  • Providing buy and sell side due diligence services to both private equity and corporate clients on transactions
  • Experience serving clients of a wide range in size and stage, from emerging growth to Fortune 500 public companies, private equity and private equity backed companies
