Kevin Simmerman is Baker Tilly’s executive director of risk management. He has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and financial services overseeing various aspects of operations and administration. Kevin's expertise includes financial analysis, legal and contract negotiations, insurance, process improvement and integration, project management, mergers and acquisitions and real estate management. He spent 10 years in the banking industry in retail banking, commercial lending and as a product and project manager. He joined the firm in 1997 and has held various leadership positions during that time. He currently holds the position of executive director of risk management.
- Risk management and legal - Provides leadership and strategic direction to the firm risk management and legal team. Leads team operational initiatives and provides guidance on projects. Provides risk management guidance to firm leadership and internal team members. Member of the firm's risk committee.
- Real estate management - Oversees and coordinates all aspects of firm real estate assets including managing broker relationships, lease analysis and negotiations, and project management oversight.
- Insurance - Oversees and manages firm insurance policies and relationships with insurance brokers.
- Mergers and acquisitions - Works with firm leadership and outside counsel and provides guidance on legal and risk issues.
- Firm strategic initiatives - Actively involved in firm strategic initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and integration, participates in implementation of new firm initiatives.
