Katherine Gough

Katherine is a partner and West Coast consulting lead with Baker Tilly and has more than 40 years of experience in all aspects of accounting. She has significant experience leading and managing a variety of consulting services including outsourced accounting, forensics, bankruptcy and litigation support. In addition, she has served as interim CFO, COO and controller for various companies. Katherine’s analytical expertise and proficiency has guided many of our clients to successful management and assisted others in the recovery of assets in complex matters.

  • Specialized in financial concerns particular to business owners, including bank relationships, start-up companies, financial reporting, risk management, HR development and accounting processes 
  • Leads forensic accounting, bankruptcies, receivership management and litigation consulting engagements 
  • Helps clients recover assets in complex matters such as Ponzi schemes and fraud investigations 
  • Provides firsthand knowledge providing financial analysis and consulting services primarily in the areas of insolvency and reorganization 
  • Experience includes day to day accounting, financial reporting, review and analysis of financial conditions, solvency analyses, forensic accounting and asset tracings 
  • Led several of the firm’s cases involving fraud detection and analysis, including engagements regarding Ponzi schemes 
  • Frequently works with investigators from the FBI, IRS, U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office, providing them with findings and supporting evidence for their respective investigations and prosecutions
