Jeff Peterson

Jeff Peterson, a director in the supply chain and manufacturing consulting practice, joined Baker Tilly in 2018. Jeff is an accomplished consultant and transformation leader. Having served as CIO for a multibillion-dollar privately held global consumer goods company, he designed and led execution of an IT strategy and transformation, which enabled global revenues to double in six years. He also previously served as a Partner at a Big 4 management consultancy serving Fortune 1000 clients. Jeff has deep experience successfully planning, leading and establishing program and change management offices for global business transformations, digital transformations and advanced analytics, IT strategy design and execution, IT performance improvement and service delivery model transformation, large-scale systems implementations, and post-merger integration initiatives in the manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, distribution, automotive, and financial services industries.

  • ­Improved operating efficiency/costs by transforming finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer experience processes while reducing systems complexity worldwide for Fortune 1000 businesses including: Keebler, Goodyear, Alticor, Kimberly-Clark, Sears, ConAgra Foods, Campbell’s, Northwestern Mutual Life, Sara Lee, Caterpillar, Yanfeng Automotive, and Amoco.
  • ­Hands-on leadership of operational performance improvement and global transformation initiatives for FP&A, finance operations, customer order management, supply chain management; manufacturing planning, scheduling & execution; inventory, distribution & fulfillment; and transportation management leveraging custom software and leading packaged or cloud solutions including SAP, Oracle, JDE, Hyperion, and Microsoft among others.
  • Managed IT expense as a percent of revenue to 1.8% from 3% over 5 years while simultaneously implementing strategic organization, operations, and systems changes to accommodate 200% growth at Board of Directors’ request.
  • ­Co-lead with the CFO the transformation of the operating and service delivery model for the corporate finance organization and implementation of shared finance service centers in Krakow, Poland; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a global consumer goods company.
  • ­Received the InformationWeek Technology Innovators Award for mobile apps for consumer and B2B scenarios, achieving 200,000+ downloads in 6 months.
  • ­Co-lead digital transformation with CMO designed to create immersive Omni channel consumer and distributor experiences across web, mobile, retail stores, call centers, and social media for >$3B revenue businesses. Designed and operated a Top 30 retail ecommerce website as ranked by Internet Retailer each year 2005-11.
  • ­Provided executive leadership for the North American IT function for a $10B global Tier 1 automotive supplier joint venture. Designed IT organization and prioritized initiatives and resources to mitigate or eliminate negative customer impacts, deliver new customer program launches, and enable successful exit from the transition services agreement. Teamed with global Industry 4.0 executive leader providing IT leadership to Global Operations and Industry 4.0 initiatives focused on Smart Factory operations and manufacturing execution solutions.
  • ­Led numerous software selections, project quality and risk assessments, IT due diligence assessments, and post-merger integration initiatives for manufacturers and retailers ranging in size from $600M to $30B in revenues.
