Donna Scaffidi is a tax partner and the practice leader of state and local tax (SALT) services, a practice within Baker Tilly’s specialty tax team. As an accomplished professional, Donna has served clients in the state and local tax arena since 1987 and has extensive experience with multistate corporation income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, business entity restructuring strategies, tax due diligence, and credits and incentives. In addition to serving Baker Tilly’s national client base, Donna manages the operations of the state and local tax services group.

  • Assists businesses in managing state and local tax costs by developing and implementing multistate tax reduction strategies including nexus reviews, entity restructuring, apportionment studies, credit and incentive analysis, and refund reviews
  • Offers pass-through entity consulting for partnerships, S corporations and LLCs regarding withholding and entity level taxation and elections
  • Provides dispute resolution services such as audit defense, appeal representation, ruling requests and voluntary disclosures
  • Offers state tax compliance solutions, including return preparation and tax outsourcing
  • Extensive experience with manufacturing and service entities, including data and software companies, as well as specialized industries such as construction, transportation and not-for-profits
  • Transactional planning for state and local taxes, including captive transportation and corporate aircraft companies
