Anh Kawata is a leader in Baker Tilly’s private equity fund services (“PEFS”) practice which serves as a fund administrator for private equity funds. With more than 19 years of experience, her primary responsibilities include overseeing client delivery as well as serving as an escalation point on all financial reporting and fund administration matters across client relationships. Anh has significant expertise in all aspects of private equity back-office operations and oversaw a more than 20 person fund administration team prior to joining Baker Tilly in 2021.

  • Significant expertise in all aspects of fund administration operations including fund accounting, financial reporting, capital call and distribution management, carried interest calculations and investor relations
  • Directed the establishment of PEFS’ control environment which led to its SOC I Type 2 certification under SSAE 18
  • Specialized in complex fund waterfalls and multitier structures, which may include blocker corporations, alternative investment vehicles (AIVs) and/or real estate investment trusts (REITs)
  • Experienced with master-feeder structures, parallel and coinvest vehicles, separately managed accounts, Fund of Funds, management companies, family offices, as well as GP and promote vehicles
  • Previous management experience includes leading a more than 20 person team at a boutique fund administration firm with $8 billion in assets under administration (AUA) and managing a consulting team at a private equity software firm
  • Experienced with FIS Private Capital Suite (Investran), FIS Digital Data Exchange, eFront, Juniper Square and QuickBooks
