Andrew Hurley

Andrew is the director of customs and global trade with Baker Tilly’s specialty tax practice. His 15 years of experience includes customs brokerage operations, in-house management and Big Four trade compliance leadership. Andrew's client-focused work helps develop a strong understanding of customs valuation, product classification and origin requirements. Additionally, he specializes in identifying duty-saving opportunities through free trade agreements and the duty drawback program.

  • Analyzes data for the purpose of conducting risk assessments and feasibility studies to identify opportunities
  • Assists with Customs entry remediation, including Post Summary Corrections (PSC), Reconciliation or Prior Disclosures
  • Provides guidance on customs value requirements, including transfer pricing rules, additions to value and CBP’s Reconciliation program
  • Examines import, export and third-party broker processes to identify compliance gaps and provides customs and compliance training
  • Develops and implements auditing programs aimed at pinpointing risks and ensuring alignment with company policies
  • Andrew has collaborated closely with clients in such sectors as; beverage and alcohol; apparel; automotive; oil and gas; construction and mining equipment
  • Licensed Customs Broker, U.S. Department of Homeland Security
