Higher Ed Advisor: proactive, strategic pathways for community college resiliency

Welcome to Higher Ed Advisor, the Baker Tilly podcast series where we speak with higher education industry leaders about practical and proactive guidance to help colleges and universities protect and enhance their value.

Community colleges are not immune to the challenges facing the higher education industry. Declining community college enrollment has a profound impact on institutions’ financial sustainability. In this podcast with Lenore Rodicio, community college thought leader, we discuss proactive, multi-faceted strategies to increase enrollment and student success. We reveal effective pathways to help students enter or return to college while also generating institutional revenue, including:

  • Leveraging available funds for infrastructure, technology and other investments that attract students and inspire success
  • Developing shared services and workforce development partnerships
  • Offering more remote and hybrid education opportunities to prepare students for remote work trends
  • Implementing equity and diversity initiatives to drive enrollment of minority students

Beyond serving as an educational institution, community colleges are instrumental to community employment, economic recovery and regional growth. We discuss the future of community colleges and higher education and share tips to help institutions achieve holistic fiscal resiliency.
