As their business grew and became more complex, a large municipal electric and gas utility found they needed to develop a systematic approach to evaluating electrification initiatives and projects to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and core values. With multiple strategic initiatives competing for attention and resources, the company needed a consistent methodology for governance and strategic understanding of these initiatives.
The team worked with the company representatives and members of senior management to develop a repeatable process. Project components included:
As a result of the team’s work, an understandable and repeatable evaluation format was developed, allowing senior management to more easily evaluate large quantities of information for decision-making. The evaluation format also incorporated an assessment of the organizational change impact. The adopted methodology was derived from and aligned with the company’s vision and core values.
