
Rachelle Westmont is a director with Baker Tilly’s commercial services practice. She specializes in tax compliance and consulting for Baker Tilly’s retail clients, with a focus on restaurants. Rachelle also has experience in audit and review engagements with the commercial services team.
- Develops and implements tax saving strategies to assist businesses and their owners manage their tax cash flow
- Works with senior management and business owners on the development of business strategy during all phases of their business life cycle, including startup, growth and exit
- Designs strategic tax and business forms of ownership through use of limited liability companies, partnerships and disregarded entities
- Implementation of tax planning including tax reform strategies
- Vast understanding of retail specific tax issues including qualified depreciation, inventory methods, gift card accounting, repairs tax law and tax credits including the Tip Credit and WOTC
- Experience with specific tax issues such as like-kind exchanges, research and development costs and startup companies
