Joe Balus is a partner with Baker Tilly’s manufacturing and distribution practice. Joe is a firmwide resource for accounting and auditing technical matters, including group audits, international consolidations, and accounting standard changes, including lease accounting implementation. In addition to his client-facing manufacturing and distribution focus, Joe also spends his time working internally with the firm’s assurance professional practice group, ensuring all communications, tools, templates, and initiatives related to the assurance practice have been properly designed and vetted to ensure cohesive operations and consistent practical results.

- Develops firmwide standardized audit tools and templates that encourage an efficient process while maintaining high-quality accounting industry standards
- Manages the planning, execution and completion of employee benefit plan audits in compliance with Department of Labor standards
