
Jeremy Bivens is a principal with Baker Tilly’s manufacturing and distribution practice. He is a savvy business advisory professional with nearly 20 years of experience providing tax services to middle-market and large companies. Jeremy's industry specialization includes manufacturing and distribution, food and beverage, professional services, software and technology — and he brings service expertise in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring transactions and state and local tax credit opportunities. Jeremy also supports due diligence and transaction services for a variety of strategic buyers and has spent his entire career in public accounting. Before joining Baker Tilly, he was a tax director with a Big Four firm.
- Implements domestic and global tax minimization strategies to assist clients with tax cash flow management, as well as reduce their overall worldwide effective tax rates
- Assists businesses with aligning their domestic and international operations through restructuring strategies
- Collaborates with business owners and management to provide relevant tax planning strategies for companies in all stages of their life cycles from startup through exit
- Provides tax controversy assistance for IRS as well as state jurisdictional tax matters
- Works closely with management to ensure the successful implementation of desired tax initiatives and completion of tax objectives
- Leads tax planning for transactions
- Supports companies as they comply with financial statement requirements established under FAS 5
- FAS 109 and ASC 740
- Identifies tax credits and incentives opportunities; works with other technical experts across Baker Tilly to help clients properly take advantage of those opportunities
- Leads tax engagement teams serving a variety of domestic and multinational companies
