Deana is a tax director in Baker Tilly’s Plano, Texas office. Deana has more than 15 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to a wide variety of clients. She specializes in federal and state tax compliance and research tax credits. Deana joined Baker Tilly in 2007. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Deana spent more than two years with one of the four largest accounting firms worldwide as a member of the federal tax services group and research credit services team.
- Primary disciplines include federal and state tax compliance for multinational and multistate corporations and partnerships, accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and consolidated corporate filings
- Well versed in mergers and acquisitions, consolidated stock basis studies, tax accounting periods and methods, state income tax consulting and IRS and state exam management
- Expertise in federal and state research tax credits, having performed numerous research and development (R&D) studies for companies of all sizes and across multiple industries
- Specialized knowledge in conducting R&D studies under the IRS directive for large business and international taxpayers that report ASC 730 financial statement R&D
- Experience with federal and state tax compliance and consulting for multilocation and private equity-owned clients in the technology, manufacturing, restaurant, retail and professional service industries
