
Austin began his public accounting career in 2012. He serves investment partnerships, including private equity, venture, hedge, and fund of funds. Austin leads tax services for high-profile partnerships within the financial sector, with a specific emphasis on investments within the technology, bio, and entertainment industries.
Austin is a client advisor on technical tax issues such as running complex tax waterfall allocations, analyzing traded financial instruments, working with legal teams on deal structuring, providing tax planning efficiencies for General Partner individuals, and navigating evolving regulatory landscapes.
Austin has substantial experience with industry financial functions such as running carried interest projection models, Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) reporting for Registered Investment Advisors and implementing new accounting software.
Prior to joining the firm, Austin spent 10 years at a Big Four firm and several years at a private equity firm.
