A provider of precision metal stampings and fabrication for the medical, aerospace, defense, and automotive industries was looking to increase their manufacturing capacity through upgrading the operational leadership in the plant. The client needed unique operations talent to deliver increased throughput and on time delivery while increasing overall production efficiency. This would increase plant capacity to make room for the growth in orders the organization was forecasting.

Through this process, we identified constraints and opportunities not only in their processes and workflow, but also with shop floor personnel to identify required attributes and experience required for a successful leader. By understanding the company’s operations and culture, we were able to market our client and their position to find high caliber candidates with experience and success in driving the improvements desired by the client.
Our search yielded five strong candidates for the company to consider. Ultimately, the client decided to hire two of the five candidates, one as the general manager and the other as the plant manager. Within 90 days of these hires, the client reported measureable and sustainable improvements in order turnaround time, changeover times, first pass quality, and order fulfillment rates.
