Brian J. Shin is a tax partner in our credits and incentives services group, a practice within Baker Tilly’s specialty tax team. He has more than 20 years of experience in performing innovation, or research and development (R&D), tax credit studies to an array of clients across a multitude of industries.
- Provides research credit services to start-ups, Fortune 500 and middle market companies in the automotive, agriculture, consumer products, construction and engineering, manufacturing, semiconductor and software industries
- Manages every aspect of R&D credit studies from assessment to delivery
- Trains professionals in the R&D subject matter specialty and develops standardized tools
- Successfully defends complex IRS and state R&D audits
- Conducts FIN 48 and ASC 740 reviews
