Who is able to register for the league?
Anyone who has a genuine interest in technology, wants to learn more about it and play a role in growing their business' digital capabilities. 

How technical do I need to be to join the league?
You are not required to have any technical background; however, it is encouraged that both fans and racers have a genuine interest in learning about advanced technologies and how they can be used in business use cases. Racers should be open to experimenting with ML / AI in AWS. 

What is the difference between a fan and a racer?
A fan is anyone who wants to join the league and attend the available events between races but doesn't want to participate in Race Days as a part of a team. A fan supports teams from their company.
A racer is anyone who chooses to participate in race days as a part of a team within their company or as a single racer who will join a team of racers. 

What happens if I register as a team leader?
You will receive a follow up email asking for the name and email addresses of the people you would like to join your team. They will then receive a notification to opt in as a racer on your team and will have full access to the league.

What happens if I register as a single racer?
You will be placed on a team of other single racers. If there are other registered single racers within your company, you will first be paired with them. If not, you will be paired with other single racers across companies.

Is there a limit to the number of people that can register from a company?
There is no limit as to how many people can join from a particular company. Race teams will be 5-7 people, with as many teams as there is interest.

What happens when I submit my registration?
You will receive a confirmation email verifying your registration. Your will be notified towards Mid-December when your account is activated and will then be able to register for all available events.

What is the estimated time commitment if I join the league?
It depends on how much you want to get out of the league. You can commit to attending the 3 race days only, or spend 5-10 hours a week attending the various events offered and training your model to get the fastest lap time…it’s really up to you.

How many race days are there and when are they scheduled?
There will be three (3) race days. The first being in late January, the second in late February and the third in March.

How long do races typically take?
Competitive racing time will typically take 4 hours. The event will last the entire day but you are free to only during competitive racing time.

How do I prepare for race day?
You will be provided an introduction and tutorial on race day and will have time to evaluate and tune your models prior to racing. The AWS DeepRacer Developer Documentation provides additional details on building your first model and also how to improve your models. In depth workshops will be offered prior to each race for those individuals who want to dig into building a successful model.

Who will I be racing against?
You will be racing against companies across all industries that both Baker Tilly and AWS have connections with. 

On what platform will the races take place?
The races will take place in the AWS DeepRacer console, located outside of the League Portal. If you choose to be a racer and join a team, we will set you and your team up with an AWS account to compete.

What if my team can't make one of the race days?
Your teams cumulative score will be impacted but there will be no additional penalties.

How do I know how my team placed in the race?
The DeepRacer leaderboard will be available for viewing on the League Portal at any time following the races. 

What happens if I win one or more of the races?
We will look at scores across all three (3) races and will determine the winner after the last race.

What if I have questions or technical difficulties?
You will be supported by AWS's pit crew on race day. They will be able to answer any questions or trouble shoot any issues related to the Race. 

What do I receive if my team wins the league?
You will receive a prize awarded to you by Baker Tilly and AWS.  

When will I be able to begin signing up for events?
You will receive an email notifying you that event registration is live Mid-December and will then be able to sign up for events. You will then be able to sign up for events throughout the duration of the league.

Where do I go to sign up for events?
You will sign up for events on the League Portal once you have received the email that event registration is live. 

How many events am I able to attend?
There is no limit to event attendance. You are able to attend as many as your calendar permits.

Is there a limited number of spots available for each event?
No. We are not limiting capacity for any of our events.

What happens if I miss an event I signed up for?
All class content will be available on the league portal for review if you are unable to attend a specific event.

Where do I go to learn more information about a specific topic discussed in each event?
There are multiple options available for you to learn more. You may schedule office hours with a technical expert, review content available on the league portal, or start the conversation in the chat forums. You may also request follow-up sessions on the League portal.
