SCCE web conference: Understanding the Final Title IX Regulations

Join Baker Tilly as our higher education specialists present a web conference on Title IX with the Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics (SCCE):

Understanding the Final Title IX Regulations

On May 6, 2020, the Department of Education (ED) released its final Title IX regulations, “Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Financial Assistance” (Final Regulations), effective Aug. 14, 2020. As higher education institutions evaluate their existing Title IX policies and grievance procedures relative to the Final Regulations, there are several key provisions to consider. Join us to learn more about the impact of these regulations and how you can help guide conversations, identify necessary changes to controls and policies and determine ways to address gaps or challenges in adhering to federal regulations.

Learning objectives:

  • Review the key considerations and applicability of the Department of Education’s Final Title IX Regulations released on May 6, 2020
  • Understand how provisions in the Final Title IX Regulations compare to provisions in the 2018 proposed guidance
  • Identify actions institutions should take, including updating policies and grievance procedures, to comply with the Final Title IX Regulations by the August 14, 2020 effective date
