Navigating Risks in Higher Education: A Three-part Interactive Virtual Workshop Series

Join Baker Tilly and the North Carolina State University Enterprise Risk Management Initiative (an academic program of NC State) for our fifth annual workshop: Navigating Risks in Higher Education.

The interactive workshop will be held in three parts on Nov. 10, 12 and 18, 2020. Leaders in higher education institutions with risk management-related responsibilities will gather virtually for this CPE-eligible event featuring facilitated discussions and idea exchanges on emerging issues for colleges and universities during these uncertain times. Each session will consist of a blend of speakers, interactive Q&A, participant commentary and opportunities for participant discussions in smaller group breakout rooms.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand insights about how risk management approaches continue to evolve in the COVID-19 environment, and how COVID-19 has changed the profiles of risks affecting institutions of higher education
  • Gain clarity about board/senior leadership risk management expectations, perspectives and roles relative to risk management
  • Identify leading practices from other institutions’ risk management approaches and ERM programs
  • Highlight emerging risks likely to impact the resiliency of higher education institutions
  • Identify lessons learned from corporate risk management programs
Who should attend?

Individuals leading university or college risk management-related efforts (e.g., leaders of existing and emerging ERM programs, institutional compliance, internal audit, general counsel, and other related and supporting roles) and the executives to whom they report. More than one individual may attend from the same institution. We invite anyone with risk management-related responsibilities within institutions of higher learning, regardless of position or role, to participate.

Attendees are eligible for 7.5 CPE credits.
