The COVID-19 pandemic has altered some GASB statement requirements and effective dates for several accounting standards, but state and local governments still need to prepare for implementation and compliance. This session will provide an update on the GASB statements that should be top priority for governments this year and offer valuable tools, examples and best practices to help organizations adopt the new standards. Specifically, we will provide an overview of GASB Statement No. 84, Fiduciary Activities and GASB Statement No. 87, Leases, including key adoption considerations and how to ensure a streamlined implementation.
