Case Study

Short- and long-term plan implemented to strengthen company’s offerings that minimized compliance and risk

Our client’s need

Harmony Information Systems (Harmony), a leading provider of integrated health and human services management solutions, offers products that enable state, local, and private provider organizations to more efficiently manage their growing caseloads with existing resources. Baker Tilly was sought out by Harmony to provide specialized advice and strategic guidance related to its GSA Schedule contracts.

Baker Tilly solution

A team from Baker Tilly’s government contract advisory services group met with Harmony to determine baselines, and then facilitated a strategy session.

Results achieved

After understanding Harmony’s offerings, pricing practices, and business strategy, Baker Tilly developed a short and long-term plan to strengthen the company’s software offerings to its state and local government based on a GSA schedule offering that minimized compliance and risk.

Subsequently, Harmony was looking for assistance in an upcoming merger and acquisition (M&A) transaction. We were able to provide Harmony’s CFO with an analysis of available net operating loss and tax attributes, and our audit team was able to deliver a quality of earnings memo for the buyer which helped the company achieve a better outcome with their buyer.

Joe Sander, CEO, and Michael Bolton, CFO, stated, “Baker Tilly has been a strong partner to us for the past two years, and we are grateful for their expertise and attention to detail in providing financial advice. It is refreshing to work with a firm who is truly interested in its client’s needs, situations, and opportunities.”
