Restaurant relaunch: how to prepare for reopening amid the “new normal”

The restaurant industry has seen a dramatic shift in consumer demand since the onset of COVID-19. Restaurant operators have modified their business structure to reduce the spread of the coronavirus and mandated state guidelines. As state governments lift their stay at home orders, restaurants must navigate how to re-open in this ‘new normal’.  

Even though every restaurant owners approach to COVID-19 has differed to fit their business needs, they should all follow a similar checklist when re-opening their business. Your restaurant checklist should include proper sanitation of all areas, following state social distance guidelines, ensuring staff are clear of illness and comfortable interacting with each other and guests, and that guests feel secure returning to patron your restaurant. When reopening, you only have one opportunity for a great first impression.
