Government contracting methods for healthcare and life sciences

The government contracts landscape for healthcare and life sciences

Join Baker Tilly for Federal Publications Seminar's "Compliance for healthcare contractors" seven-part webinar series.  Our specialists will discuss compliance risks, financial impacts and common questions related to federal grants and contracts awarded to healthcare organizations.

Session two

Federal agencies purchase large quantities of goods and services and the contracting landscape that exists to reach these substantial customers is often confusing.  In this session, attendees will learn about the many different contracting methods and a number of the different contract vehicles that the federal government relies upon to procure healthcare and healthcare-related services, pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, and medical supplies.

Key learning objectives include:

  • Discuss the different contract vehicles and contract types the government relies upon to procure healthcare-related products and services, to include the VA FSS program, VA’s Med-Surg Prime Vendor (MSPV) program, DoD’s E-CAT system, and other federal contracts and grants (a deeper dive into some of these contract vehicles and types will take place in additional training sessions that are planned as part of this series)
  • Learn how to navigate the types of healthcare-related products and services that the federal government procures, and which types of contracts they generally rely upon for those procurements
  • Review some of the requirements and opportunities associated with these contract types and vehicles
