Workforce Planning for the Utility of the Future

Tuesday, Sept. 19 | 10:15–11:45 a.m.

In the “Utility of the Future,” the public power workforce will evolve. Augmenting existing skillsets with digital proficiencies will be of paramount importance for all levels of operation. In addition to changing skillsets, the face of the utility workforce will change as baby boomers retire so it’s imperative to plan now to retain or replace talent leaving your utility at all levels. Russ Hissom of Baker Tilly will discuss tools used to evaluate your utility's workforce and identify future leaders. This session will also take a look at one utility’s experience with workforce planning and development.
