Gabriel currently serves as the regional tax leader for the West region and is a member of the tax leadership team, and formerly served on the firm’s Board of Partners. Throughout his career, Gabriel has delivered tax consulting and compliance solutions for clients across multiple industries, with his primary focus being real estate.
- Primarily serves multifamily, residential, retail and commercial real estate developers and owner operators
- Works with real estate clients throughout the life cycle of a project, including advising on structuring entities and acquisitions, maximizing profitability during operations and minimizing or deferring tax on disposition
- Other industries served include entertainment, hospitality, service providers and federal equity receiverships
- Expertise in tax compliance for syndicated partnerships, closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals
- Provides creative transaction structuring including techniques for tax deferral and minimization, recapitalizations, and identification of optimal tax accounting methods and periods as they relate to revenue and expense recognition
- Experience with federal equity receiverships includes advising on receivership entities, accounting for recoveries and distributions, and qualified settlement fund federal and state compliance
