Baker Tilly sponsors Wind Works Energy Symposium

CHICAGO, IL - Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) was a sponsor of the recent Wisconsin Wind Works Fall Energy Symposium held at Frontier Airlines Center in Milwaukee, WI. Michael Land, Director with Baker Tilly Capital, LLC, was a featured luncheon speaker.

Mr. Land, who specializes in the Renewable Energy segment of Baker Tilly’s Energy & Utilities practice, spoke about the impact of today’s market trends on the wind industry supply chain, including the steps component suppliers could take in the next few months to support the end-user’s ability to qualify for Section 1603 Grants safe harbor requirements by December 31, 2010. Mr. Land also addressed what’s next for federal incentives relating to renewable energy as Congress heads into its November session.

Wisconsin Wind Works is a consortium of manufacturers and other professionals representing the wind manufacturing supply chain within Wisconsin. The symposium featured information on the wind energy supply chain, providing educational insight from wind experts on first and second tier wind production and aftermarket operations, and maintenance of wind turbines.
