Steven J. Lux joins firm as director Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly is pleased to announce the addition of Steven J. Lux as a Director in the firm’s State and Local Government practice. Lux has nearly 25 years of experience in local government financial operations, accounting, and auditing. Most recently, Lux served as Comptroller for the City of Chicago, overseeing the operations of the City’s Finance Department, including the management of its $6 billion annual budget. “We are very excited to have Steve join the firm," Vicki Hellenbrand, State and Local Government industry leader for the firm, said. “His financial management experiences with the City of Chicago have provided him with an understanding of the challenges public sector organizations face and solutions for responding to those challenges, especially when operating in unsteady and often unpredictable economic environments." Hellenbrand added that his municipal financial management experience coupled with the knowledge he gained as an audit manager with an international accounting firm will enable him to help clients address critical fiscal issues and improve their operations. Steve, a certified public accountant, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association.
