(in the top 10) in Global Accounting Networks
Network is one of only two of the top 10 accountancy networks to report growth in 2009

CHICAGO – The 2009 International Accounting Bulletin World Survey reported that Baker Tilly International has maintained its position as the world's eighth largest accounting network by combined revenue.

The survey also reported that of the 10 largest networks, Baker Tilly International was one of only two to report positive growth in 2009 with a total fee income of $3.13 billion.

On June 1 2009, the former Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP changed its name to become the exclusive U.S. branded firm in the Baker Tilly International network. The transition to the Baker Tilly brand is a commitment by the firm to meet the ever -changing global needs of its clients. On December 1, 2009, the firm announced a merger with Beers + Cutler, a leading Washington, DC firm, also a member of Baker Tilly International.

Baker Tilly sees the growth increase as a benefit of working with a strong accounting network. Baker Tilly International expanded its footprint in Australia, the Baltics, Canada, Central America, Portugal and the U.S. in 2009 with the addition of new firms. Notably, following the merger of Collins Barrow Toronto and Smith Nixon, which created one of Toronto's largest audit practices, the Collins Barrow National Cooperative (Collins Barrow) joined Baker Tilly International in October of 2009.
